We are thrilled to announce our latest publication in Alzheimer’s & Dementia.
In addition to the well-known APOE locus, polygenic risk scores for dementia have potential to refine risk stratification for the enrichment of dementia prevention programs and clinical trials.
This study demonstrates the ability of a polygenic risk score integrating neurodegenerative and vascular risk (iPRS-DEM) to inform dementia risk stratification in population-based and memory-clinic settings.
Highlights:
– iPRS-DEM reflects neurodegenerative and vascular contribution to dementia.
– We show iPRS-DEM captures additional dementia genetic risk beyond APOE and AD-PRS.
– iPRS-DEM, in combination with APOE ε4, shows promise for dementia risk stratification.
– Our results generalize across both population-based and memory-clinic settings.
– We show transportability of iPRS-DEM to East Asian ancestry.
Warm congratulations to Tim D’Aoust and to all collaborators!
