Professor Thierry Couffinhal, co-coordinator of the RHU SHIVA, is a cardiologist at the Bordeaux University Hospital and heads the Biology of Cardiovascular Diseases unit at the Haut-Lévêque Hospital in Pessac. His team specializes in the study of the endothelium, the layer of cells that lines all the blood vessels in the human body.
He has just been awarded with the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale Jean-Paul Binet 2022, very prestigious award for a professional career in the service of cardiovascular research.
