Breteler, Christophe Tzourio &amp; St\u00e9phanie Debette.<\/em> Diffusion imaging genomics provides novel insight into early mechanisms of cerebral small vessel disease. <em>Mol Psychiatry<\/em>\u00a0<strong>29<\/strong>, 3567\u20133579 (2024). https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1038\/s41380-024-02604-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are pleased to present our new collaborative publication between the University of Bordeaux and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, published in Molecular Psychiatry and authored by Quentin Le Grand and RHU SHIVA researchers:<br>\u201cDiffusion imaging genomics provides novel insight into early mechanisms of cerebral small vessel disease\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1 Using an association approach between advanced diffusion imaging markers, scatter imaging and neurite density imaging in subjects of different ages, this study was able to demonstrate the possible existence of <strong>early mechanisms<\/strong> underlying <strong>Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease<\/strong> and processes involving <strong>remyelination<\/strong>, <strong>neurodevelopment<\/strong> and <strong>neurodegeneration<\/strong>, with the potential for new approaches to <strong>prevention<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These mechanisms were highlighted by the identification of several new genetic loci associated with NODDI markers in young adults (i-Share study), with follow-up in middle-aged people (Rhineland study) and in middle-aged to elderly people (UK Biobank).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The article is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41380-024-02604-7\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quentin Le Grand, Ami Tsuchida, Alexandra Koch, Mohammed-Aslam Imtiaz, N.
